The hotel of choice in Oakham. Nice building and rooms with a four poster bed. Marvellous and brilliant location, 5 minutes' walk to Rutland Water. Great restaurant, with bar.

Everything was great including rooms and food. Incredible location on market place was a plus. Besides, it was short walk to the centre, banks, Oakham. Loved the attached restaurant, where I had dinner.

Ideal for a couple's getaway
One evening, despite the kitchen closing early, the manager made sure my partner got a meal, really thoughtful.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but it was still acceptable for the level of service we received.

It genuinely reminded me of coming home after a day out exploring oakham. The room was clean and cozy, and the dining experience was good, especially the well-cooked dinner that stood out as a highlight.
shower pressure could be better

Staff exeptionally friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant food delicious - all freshly cooked. Oakham is a pretty town next to Rutland Water lakes.
Furnishings in main areas shabby. Corridor carpets looked dirty in places. Wallpaper peeling. Decor in room a bit better but certainly a bit tired.

The room .service, facilities and friendliness of staff were of an excellent standard and great value for money. I have stayed in hotels of, ostensibly, a higher calibre which were greatly inferior and less accommodating than this little gem. From the outset I was treated with courtesy and consideration. No question or request was dismissed as trivial. We had a tasty evening meal, served in our room;greatly appreciated after a gruelling day.
It was perfectly charming. My 22year old daughter agrees wholeheartedly with me,so it's not a generational bias.

Very good location in the centre of town. Very good breakfast. We e joyed a very nice meal in the restaurant.
It could do with a bit of upgrading in the bathroom. A proper shower or a proper bath, ours was a hybrid and not good as either.

Lovely room. Very comfortable armchairs and bed. Charming hotel, old worldly feel with modern conveniences. Staff at breakfast in particular were charming.
Lack of overhead light in room. Bedside lights insufficient to light whole room.
